What could be causing an oil leak on my CX-5?

2021 CX-5 (non-turbo), 28k miles

I’m noticing a slow drip from the front of the car. My mechanic confirmed it’s oil using dye and described the leak as being ‘up high’ and used an image to point it out.

I’m not very familiar with cars, but I have an appointment with Mazda next week.

Any ideas on what might be causing this leak? Is this location likely to be covered under the drivetrain warranty?

Could be the cylinder head. Make sure to have the dealership check it under warranty.

Definitely take it to the dealership.

Is this a Mazda truck?

It’s actually an SUV.

For some reason, SUVs are labeled as trucks in official specs. My car insurance lists my Nissan Rogue as a ‘truck.’

My RX-8 is classified as a sedan by my insurance.

Is that because it has four doors?

Just take it to the dealer. You still have the powertrain warranty.

The diagrams are showing heater hoses. There shouldn’t be any oil leaking from there, and they wouldn’t cause oil leaks. That doesn’t really make sense.
