Take that in under warranty!
There is a corrosion warranty. You should claim it.
This is a common rust spot on Mazdas. Show it to your dealer as soon as possible. By the way, check all the doors too.
Warranties are there for a reason.
The inners don’t get the same level of protective spray as the parts exposed to the sun. This is a common issue for many manufacturers.
Make sure to get that covered under warranty.
That’s the difference between models made in Japan and those made in the USA.

Always look for that first letter “J” in the VIN.

It’s really hard to find the “J” now.

That’s why you should get a CX-5, not a CX-50.

Exactly! I wish they had the CX-5 hybrid available. I would probably pick one up ahead of the upcoming tariff wars.

I’m considering the CX-30, but all the VINs start with the number 3. It’s disappointing.

That is disappointing. I thought they made the 30s in Japan.

Yep, that’s Mexico.
@Skyler
Does Mazda still manufacture cars in Japan?
@Dana
At least the MX-5 is still a “J”.

I think it’s built in the USA?
