Just read Mazda’s finally rolling out two new EVs at Auto China 2024. Seems like they’re really stepping up their game with a new sedan and crossover. Anyone else been waiting for Mazda to dive into the EV space?
Yeah, heard about that! Wondering if the sedan will bring something fresh or if it’ll just blend in with all the other EVs out there.

From what I read, it’s supposed to have that ‘Kodo’ design thing Mazda’s known for. So, maybe it’ll stand out a bit?

What’s Kodo design? I keep hearing it but IDK what it actually means.
@Roux
It’s like a minimalist style Mazda uses, all sleek lines and ‘flowing’ shapes. Makes their cars look pretty stylish IMO.
@Roux
Yep, makes their cars look kinda sporty even when they’re not lol.
Can’t wait to see the crossover. EV SUVs are super popular in China, so smart move on Mazda’s part.

True! Hopefully, the range isn’t disappointing though… heard Mazda struggled with that on their first EV?
@Haze
Yeah, that was the MX-30. Range was kinda meh. Maybe they’ll go for 300-400 km this time?
@Haze
Fingers crossed! They’ll need that if they wanna compete with stuff like Tesla and BYD here.
I heard they might use solid-state batteries. Anyone know if that’s true?

I think that’s more of a future thing? They might stick with lithium-ion for these models, but who knows?
@Journey
Makes sense, solid-state’s still pretty new tech. Just hoping for faster charging at least.
Wondering if they’ll throw in some cool features like 360 cams or voice control. Seems like everyone’s adding those now.

Wouldn’t be surprised, especially since it’s aimed at China where ppl love that high-tech stuff.
@Ash
Right? A nice HUD would be cool too… like, all info in one place while driving.
@Ash
Good point. Heard it might come with a smart parking assist too, which could be handy in crowded cities.
Hope it’s priced right! So many EVs in China, they’ll have to offer something really solid to stand out.

True that. Mazda’s quality is great, but if they’re competing with the Tesla Model Y or BYD, they gotta balance price and features.
@Nevin
For sure, if they’re smart, they’ll price it in the mid-range and offer some incentives.
