Just saw that the Mazda CX-90 and the CX-90 Plug-in Hybrid got the highest safety rating from IIHS. Been considering a family SUV and wanted to know if anyone else has looked into these. The safety features look top-notch, but IDK… anyone here driven one?
Yeah, I was actually pretty impressed by that rating too! The whole Skyactiv Vehicle thing sounds solid. Mazda’s stepping up in safety big time.

What’s this Skyactiv stuff? Sounds fancy lol.
@Maddox
Haha, yeah, it’s basically Mazda’s way of making cars lighter but strong. Good for crash protection without adding extra weight.
@Maddox
It’s like a new architecture… improves handling too. Not just safety, but helps make the ride smoother.
The airbag system alone is impressive. Front, side, and curtain airbags all around. That’s peace of mind if you’ve got kids in the back.

Right? I always worry about side impacts. This makes me feel better about it.
@Taj
Exactly! It’s set up to cover pretty much every angle. Definitely a good choice for families.

Love how they went all out with safety for real… looks like a fortress inside!
Anyone else think the PHEV is a good idea? That electric range looks solid for short trips.

Totally! It’s got like an electric-only mode that’s perfect for quick drives without burning gas.
@Koa
Right? Good balance of eco-friendly and practicality.

And for anyone looking to cut down on emissions, this is a solid choice. Less gas, more electric – win-win.
Does anyone know about the i-Activsense stuff? Not super familiar with Mazda tech.

It’s Mazda’s safety suite – has things like auto braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist. Good for avoiding accidents.
@Vin
Ah, gotcha. So it’s more like driver assist tech?
@Vin
Yep, exactly! Keeps you from drifting out of lanes and warns you if something’s in your blind spot.

Also has Smart City Brake Support – it’ll brake automatically if you’re about to hit something. Super useful.
Was reading that these models have really strong roof strength too. Helps in rollover accidents which is a big plus.

I didn’t even think about that, but yeah, good to know it’s covered. Rollover safety is so important in SUVs.
