Is it really that rare?
That’s a nice little car!
If this is the 323 GTX, then it’s pretty rare. The GTX was a homologation car for the group A rally races in 1988 and 1989. To be considered for racing, a certain number of production cars needed to be made. It’s a four-wheel-drive turbo with a Miata engine that’s been tuned up, and the transmission isn’t exactly known for being strong. Only 1,243 units were made, so if this is one, it’s definitely rare.
@Lior
Yes, it is exactly what you think.
I had a black one with Recaro seats and a manual sunroof. It had 50 more horsepower than the regular 323. I believe they only made about 800 a year between 1988 and 1989. The orange dash with a circular design for speed and rpm was pretty cool. I kept mine for about 5 years but had to sell it when parts became hard to find.
You might want to remove that spoiler and check underneath. I had the same model years ago, and there was some nasty rust in that area.

Not an issue with mine.
