Yes, but make sure it’s either genuine parts or something that can be removed. For example, adding a genuine tow hitch is fine, but something like NOS kits or major mods isn’t. Also, any addition you make won’t increase the car’s value when you return it.

I’d love to return a lease with two giant chrome NOS bottles in the trunk and two big red buttons on the steering wheel.

You should ask wherever you leased it from for the most accurate info.
Make sure you return it to stock condition when you hand it back at the end of the lease.
Why bother customizing a car you don’t own? It’s like making changes to a rental house.
Hi! I’ve been leasing Mazdas since 2017. Two things to keep in mind:
-
As long as it’s not permanent and can be easily reversed without damaging the car, it’s fine. For example, tinting the windows is no big deal. The dealership did it for me on my first Mazda.

If you plan to trade the car in at the end of the lease, you can basically do whatever you want. Since I leased another Mazda, I just sold my old one to the dealership so I didn’t have to worry about the lease return stuff.
